EL CARMELO RETREAT HOUSE
Located on 29 acres, the El Carmelo Retreat House is a place where people can discern, strengthen and renew their personal relationship with Jesus Christ according to the Carmelite tradition.
This spiritual sanctuary hosts 47 private rooms, one chapel, and a conference room. Year-round spiritual retreats, workshops, Bible studies, and days/evenings of recollection for men, women, youth, families, and married couples comprise this place of prayer. Since its founding in 1952, hundreds of thousands of individuals have prayed on the sacred grounds of El Carmelo Retreat House overlooking the San Bernardino Mountains. Approximately 10,000 men, women, married couples, and youth make the journey to this countryside sanctuary annually.
Owned and operated by the Discalced Carmelite Friars, El Carmelo asks the question: “How is my prayer life? What is my relationship with God?” We provide the guidance and comfort to help you emerge with a deeper and profound understanding of your relationship with God, self, and others in the spirit of St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. Whether you want to spend quiet time in our chapel or meditate on our beautiful grounds, including our beautiful orange and avocado groves, or participate in our spiritual retreats, El Carmelo Retreat House offers you a place of serenity and healing.
While staying with us, you will experience our gift of hospitality: clean, comfortable, private rooms and delicious meals served by our religious sisters and friendly staff. If you are looking for a spiritual getaway, make El Carmelo Retreat House your spiritual destination.
