This chasuble was designed and painted by St. Therese (it is not known who sewed the chasuble together, but it is made from an old dress belonging to her mother, Zelie (made of heavy, brocade-type fabric, dark green in color). St. Therese painted the Holy Face and the vines and roses. The two roses at the bottom represent her parents. The two bigger roses above them are her eldest sisters, Marie and Pauline; the rose directly below the Holy Face is Celine, the last of the sisters to enter the Carmel. Therese is the rose to the left of the face, and Leonie's rose is to the right. The other four buds represent the four other children who did not live past early childhood.
