“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”—Matt. 28:19, 20
REQUIREMENTS: In order to take part in our Baptism Program, BOTH PARENTS AND GODPARENTS are required to:
Attend a Baptism Preparation Class (unless proof is presented that a baptism preparation class was attended in the last 12 months).
FEES: The fee per the family of each child is $100 for both the class and the Sacrament. (Note: If you are only taking the class, the fee is $25 per family.)
After completing these requirements, your child will be baptized on a Saturday (normally at 11:00 a.m., but the time is subject to change). Please note that no classes/Baptisms take place in the month in which Easter falls or in August.
CLASS & BAPTISM DATES: The classes are held in the Parish Library in the Parish Center (upstairs in the two-story building just east of the church) from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. once a month. Check the calendar on this website for upcoming dates OR click here (X) to see the full schedule for 2018/2019. If our class dates do not fit into your schedule, you may attend a class in another church. Just obtain proof of your attendance and present it to the Baptism Coordinator.
BAPTISM REGISTRATION FORM: To register for the class, fill out the info form by clicking here (X) to download the form. Send it in or drop it off at the office, along with the fee ($25 for the class only; $100 for both the class and the baptism). You may also email it to the secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org.
LATIN RITE (EXTRAORDINARY FORM) BAPTISM: If you attend the Latin Mass and would like your child to be baptized in the extraordinary form, click here (X) to download the Latin REGISTRATION FORM.
SELECTING THE GODPARENTS: Canon Law requires you to have at least one *godparent (may have two--one woman and one man) who:
1) is at least 16 years of age;
2) has received the Sacrament of Confirmation; and
3) is a practicing Catholic.
*Each godparent must obtain proof of Confirmation and of being in good standing. A form to verify that will be given to them at the class.
