“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”—Matt. 28:19, 20
REQUIREMENTS: In order to take part in our Baptism Program, BOTH PARENTS AND GODPARENTS are required to:
Attend a Baptism Preparation Class (unless proof is presented that a baptism preparation class was attended in the last 12 months).
FEES: The fee per the family of each child is $100 for both the class and the Sacrament. (Note: If you are only taking the class, the fee is $25 per family.)
After completing these requirements, your child will be baptized on a Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Please note that no classes/Baptisms take place in the month in which Easter falls or in August.
CLASS & BAPTISM DATES: The classes are held in the Parish Library in the Parish Center (upstairs in the two-story building just east of the church) from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Check the calendar on this website for upcoming dates. You do not need to pre-register. Just go to the class in the same month you would like to have your child baptized. If our class dates do not fit into your schedule, you may attend a class in another church. Just obtain proof of your attendance and present it to the Baptism Coordinator.
BAPTISM REGISTRATION FORM: This form will be given to you at the Baptism Class to fill out. However, if you would like to fill it out in advance, click here (X) to download the form.
SELECTING THE GODPARENTS: Canon Law requires you to have at least one *godparent (may have two--one woman and one man) who:
1) is at least 16 years of age;
2) has received the Sacrament of Confirmation; and
3) is a practicing Catholic.
*Each godparent must obtain proof of Confirmation and of being in good standing. A form to verify that will be given to them at the class.
QUESTIONS: For questions, please contact Rhonda Storey at (626) 284-0020, ext. 225; if she's not in, leave your name and phone number.
