ADULT CONFIRMATION

"I will pray to the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter…” –John 14:16

The St. Therese Adult Confirmation Program is for baptized Adult Catholics who received their First Holy Communion but who, for whatever reason, did not receive the Sacrament of Confirmation (normally administered in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles when a person is in high school).

Confirmation is a Sacrament in which, through the imposition of the Bishop's hands, unction and prayer, baptized persons receive the Holy Spirit, that they may steadfastly profess their faith and lead upright lives. The Sacrament is called Confirmation, because it confirms or strengthens the soul by Divine Grace. Sometimes it is called the laying on of hands, because the Bishop imposes his hands on those whom he confirms. It is also known by the name of Chrism, because the forehead of the person confirmed is anointed with chrism in the form of a cross

Classes are held on a weekly basis beginning in the Fall.  Then, sometime after Easter, the Adult Confirmation students ("Confirmandees") from St. Therese Church are confirmed, along with Confirmandees from other parishes, at a Region-wide Mass.
